Private Prescriptions
Private Prescription Service FAQs
1. What is a private prescription? When a doctor writes a private prescription for medication, you pay the full price for each item rather than the NHS's flat-rate subsidy for any prescription. If a drug is not available through the NHS, you can think about getting a private prescription from a private doctor, who might be able to see you more quickly than an NHS physician.
2. How to get a private prescription? If you need a private prescription to treat one of the conditions we offer, you can get it from our online doctor service. The following conditions are all treated privately by our prescriptions: erectile dysfunction, loss of weight, thinning hair, nervousness in specific situations, genital herpes, or certain skin disorders like rosacea, acne, eczema, or psoriasis.
3. What much is a private prescription?Private prescription prices will change depending on the service you select for your treatment. Consultations with our online doctor are free, and depending on the problem and period of therapy, our therapies range in price from £15 to £300. Get a price for your drug right here. Our minimum dispensing fee for private prescriptions you receive from another GP is £9.35 per item. 4. Who delivers my medicines?Royal Mail will deliver your medications to you in simple, covert packaging. When we ship your medications, we'll let you know, and on the day of delivery, Royal Mail might send you a text or email to let you know when your package will arrive.
5. How long is a private prescription valid for? From the date on the prescription, your private prescription will last for six months.

A doctor would typically write a private prescription regarding an item or medicine that cannot be prescribed on an NHS prescription. Sometimes, it is also a substitute for getting a prescription for a medicine. For instance, long wait times for NHS services in high demand may prompt some people to consider getting prescriptions and medical care privately because it may be quicker in some situations.
